HELL and I – #2 Hedvig Wiklund
“I was in Tokyo and went for a run on my own. I got lost and it was one of the best things that happened while in Japan.”
I’ve been trying to run with Hedvig for years, but due to running being gang related these days, I haven’t had the chance until now. I remember the first time I met Hedvig in 2011, I was new to Trädgården and I spotted her sitting in a spare room hand sewing cushions for the Summer premiere. The work was voluntary and all about the passion to contribute. Passion seems to be the red thread in Hedvigs’ approach, these days growing within the company Our Legacy and soon to release a running blog of her own. While we were out there running a favourite route in Djurgården, not far from the Our Legacy office, Hedvig reflected on a comment her father made after completing the mini marathon as a youngster. The comment lasted for many years, and in 2015 brought tears to her eyes, while lining up at the start of the Stockholm Marathon for the first time. Hedvig always finds a way to overcome challenges and says that running for her has been an escape, a way to explore new cities, and a way to connect with colleagues and her children. A feminist in every sense of the word, Hedvigs’ answer to the question; ‘What is your superpower?’ is “I’m a woman”. This shines through and I completely agree.
Who inspires you and why? People who dare to fail, recover and improve.
When you are not running what are you doing? Dreaming about or traveling to south of France, reading, painting and also very passionate about my work as head of logistics at Our Legacy and of course spending time with my two children.
What is your superpower? I’m a woman
